Cromford Canal Walking Tour - 6th November, 2pm

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

On Sunday 6th November Mark Somerfield will be leading a DHBT walking tour along the Cromford Canal. Tickets are still available - please book on via Eventbrite.

The Cromford Canal is one of the most picturesque elements of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, as it slowly meanders from Cromford Wharf along to High Peak Junction and across the Derwent Aqueduct towards Whatstandwell and Ambergate.

The visit will focus on this section of the canal, with an exploration of the built heritage of this unique inland waterway, intertwined with the story of how and why it was built.

The visit will take around two hours and will cover the distance of about 3 miles, stopping off at the recently restored Aqueduct Cottage.

The tour will set off from the car park near Cromford Wharf at 2pm and should take around 2 hours to complete.

There is Pay & Display car parking at this location.
