Sunday Circular Walk with the Peak District Mines Historical Society

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

A reminder that on Sunday morning (16th October) Tony Wood, from the Peak District Mines Historical Society (PDMHS), will be leading a heritage walk looking at the quarries at Barton Hill, Twyfords, New Park, Stanton Moor, Dale and Endcliffe.

We've linked in with the PDMHS for this walk as we became interested in finding out more about where the stone to build Wingfield Station came from.

Discover more about the links between Birchover Quarry and Wingfield Station by reading the article in our July newsletter.

The circular walk will take about 1.5hrs - please come suitably dressed and meet at 11am at the carpark in front of Birchover Stone, Birchover Road, Birchover.

Places are free but please register via Eventbrite.

We've shared these pictures to give you an idea of the landscape!
